## How do Claude connectors work, and what do you consent to?

A connector is an MCP server that gives Claude a short, fixed list of actions inside another product. You add one from the directory under Customize, then Connectors, or add a custom connector by pasting its URL.

Consent has two layers. You sign in to the product through OAuth and see what the connector can reach; Claude never sees your password. Then Claude asks before it runs a tool, and you allow once, allow always, or decline. ## Finance and funding: BusinessLoanBroker.ai

This one is ours, so read it with that in mind. The BusinessLoanBroker.ai connector lets Claude apply for a business loan on your behalf: you share bank statements, tax returns and financials, and Claude extracts the numbers, fills the application, tells you what is missing, matches lenders in every category and submits only when you approve.

What to watch: it cannot accept an offer or sign anything, and it cannot make a weak file strong. It is free for your business; lenders pay us when a loan funds, and we are paid the same whichever lender you choose. ## Accounting: QuickBooks and Xero

**QuickBooks.** Intuit's connector lets Claude read your profit and loss, balance sheet and aging reports, and draft invoices, estimates and payment reminders from your own books. Let it read freely and ask before it creates or sends anything. Your QuickBooks subscription is the cost; the connector is free.

**Xero.** Xero publishes an MCP server covering contacts, invoices, bank transactions and reports. Check the Claude connector directory first; if Xero is not listed, its server can be added as a custom connector, though that setup is more technical.

## Payments and banking data: Stripe and Plaid based tools

**Stripe.** Stripe publishes an MCP server that lets Claude look up customers, payments, subscriptions and your balance, and create products, invoices and payment links. A refund or a cancellation has money consequences, so keep those on ask every time. Stripe's normal fees apply; the connector adds nothing.

**Plaid based tools.** You will not usually connect Plaid itself. Plaid is the plumbing that cash flow, bookkeeping and lending apps use to read your bank transactions with your consent. Connect one of those apps or your accounting software and let Claude read from there. Lenders still want the statements themselves, so keep the PDFs.

## Documents: Google Drive and Notion

**Google Drive.** The Google Drive connector lets Claude search your Drive and read documents, sheets and PDFs you can access, so you can ask it to find last year's lease and the renewal date, or point it at a folder of statements. It reads; it does not reorganize your files.

**Notion.** The Notion connector lets Claude search, read and create pages and update database entries, a reasonable home for procedures, a vendor list or a simple pipeline. Both cost nothing beyond the Google or Notion plan you have.

## Email and calendar: Gmail and Google Calendar

**Gmail.** The Gmail connector lets Claude search and read your mail and draft replies. Whether it can also send depends on the permissions you grant, so start with search and draft. Your inbox holds everything, so connect only the account you intend.

**Google Calendar.** The Calendar connector lets Claude read your schedule and create or update events, so asking it to find an hour this week for the bank call and book it works. Both come with a Google account and a paid Claude plan, and both use an OAuth sign in you can revoke from your Google security settings at any time.

## CRM, e signature and projects: HubSpot, DocuSign, Asana and Linear

**HubSpot.** The HubSpot connector lets Claude read contacts, companies and deals and add notes and tasks, so you can ask what changed in the pipeline this week without opening the CRM. **DocuSign.** The DocuSign connector lets Claude list agreements, check who has not signed, send reminders and send a document from a template. Sending an envelope is a real action, so keep it on ask every time.

**Asana and Linear.** Asana lets Claude create and update tasks and projects and report what is overdue; Linear does the same for software teams. ## Questions and answers
**Which Claude plan do I need for custom connectors?**

Custom connectors by URL work on every plan at the time of writing, with free accounts limited to one. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner or admin adds the connector before members can connect.

**Can Claude move money or send something without asking?**

Not unless you tell it to. Claude asks before it runs a tool, and you decide per tool whether to allow once, allow always, or decline. Keep anything that sends, pays, refunds or signs on ask every time.

**Is it safe to connect my accounting software?**

It is as safe as the permissions you grant. Connect with read access first, use it for a few weeks, and widen only if you need writes. Review the connector's privacy terms and disconnect the moment you stop using it.
