How long does each type of business loan take?
The table below gives typical times from a complete application to money in your account. Products that decide from bank statements alone are fastest. Products that need tax returns, appraisals, title work or a government guarantee are slowest, and they are usually the cheapest, which is the tradeoff you are making.
Two products work differently. Invoice factoring takes three to ten days to set up, then each invoice is typically funded within 24 hours. A line of credit takes days to approve, then draws arrive in one business day for as long as the line is open. If you expect to need money repeatedly, set one up during a calm month.
Why do SBA and bank loans take so long?
Banks and SBA lenders verify everything. They pull IRS transcripts to match your tax returns, order an appraisal on any real estate, run title and lien searches, and often require a site visit. An SBA loan adds the lender's credit memo, the SBA's own eligibility review and, for some loans, SBA approval of the file itself. Each step has its own queue.
The reward is price. An SBA 7(a) loan at prime plus a capped spread over ten years is far cheaper than any product that funds in a week. If you cannot wait, a bridge loan can cover the gap until the slower loan closes, as long as the SBA lender knows about it.
What slows an application down?
Missing or stale documents cause most delays. The second cause is numbers that do not agree: a balance sheet that shows less debt than the bank statements reveal, or revenue on the application that the deposits do not support. The third is stipulations, the lender's list of conditions before funding, which often includes items you did not expect such as a landlord waiver, proof of insurance or a payoff letter for an existing loan.
Outside your control are appraisals (one to three weeks) and IRS transcript turnaround. Inside your control is responding the same day. Files where the owner answers in hours fund weeks sooner, and the document checklist prevents most of the requests in the first place.

Apply nowHow can you get funded faster?
Apply with a complete file, apply to lenders whose criteria you actually meet, and answer every request within a business day. Those three things cut most timelines in half. Choose the product that fits the deadline: if you need money within a week, a cash advance, revenue based financing or an online line is realistic and a bank loan is not.
Apply once to a place that reaches many lenders, so you are not restarting the clock with each one. On this site your application goes to matching lenders in every category at the same time, and offers come back to one place. For deadline situations, fast business funding lists the realistic options and what each one costs.
How long after approval does the money arrive?
Approval is not funding. After approval you receive closing documents to sign electronically, the lender clears its final stipulations, and then funds are sent. Online lenders and cash advance companies typically send money by ACH the same or next business day after you sign. Banks fund at closing, usually within a few days of final approval. SBA loans fund after the closing package is complete, which can take one to three weeks because of lien filings and insurance requirements.
Equipment lenders typically pay the vendor directly, and real estate loans fund through a title or escrow company on the closing date. What happens after you submit walks through each step in order.
Does applying with AI change the timeline?
It shortens the part before underwriting and does not change underwriting itself. Most owners spend days finding statements, building a debt schedule and filling forms. An AI assistant connected to our MCP server reads the documents you share, extracts the revenue, balances and existing debt, completes the application and tells you what is missing, usually in minutes. It then submits with your approval and tracks the offers; see the agents hub.
What it cannot do is make a bank verify transcripts faster, skip an appraisal or guarantee approval. The lender's clock starts when it receives a complete file, and from there the typical times above apply. Using AI to get a business loan explains the whole process.
